Davenport, Iowa (January 13, 2019) – Beginning Saturday, the Figge Art Museum’s second-floor Mary Waterman Gildehaus Community Gallery will feature the artwork of local elementary art students (K-5) for the annual Young Artists at the Figge exhibition. The exhibition will kick-off with works by elementary art students from Geneseo Schools.

The Rock Island Art Guild, a volunteer-run organization founded in 1955, promotes and fosters the appreciation of the visual arts in the Quad Cities. Beginning Saturday, the Guild’s 41st juried exhibition will be installed in the Figge Art Museum’s fourth-floor gallery.

A museum professional with two decades of experience, Hargrave currently serves as the Deputy Director of the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT.

Davenport, Iowa (September 16, 2019) –Mia Feuer: Totems of the Anthropocene by Artist Mia Feuer will be on view in the fourth-floor gallery beginning Saturday.

Mia Feuer: Totems of the Anthropocene envisions what our environment might become after prolonged exposure to petroleum, a fossil fuel that lives beneath the earth’s surface. From the packaging of the foods we eat to our daily commute, petroleum is a pervasive presence in our lives and the landscape in which we live. Feuer’s work delves into the consequences of mining petroleum from an environmental, social and political perspective.
