Davenport, Iowa (Thursday, August 5, 2021) – The Figge Art Museum acquires early painting by renowned American artist Kehinde Wiley. Wiley is best known for being selected and commissioned to paint the official presidential portrait of former President Barack Obama for the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

Davenport, Iowa (Thursday, July 15) – The Figge Art Museum unveiled seven new acquisitions at an invitation-only event at the museum on Thursday evening. A newly created Art Diversity and Equity Fund intended to combat the systemic inequality in the art world was also announced and is being initially funded by a lead gift from locals Jim and Michelle Russell.
