Community Through Quilts
The art of quilting allows for reflection on the shared stories of the communities in which we live. Diversity is woven into the fabric of our communities including different races, customs, traditions, and lifestyles.
Beginning March 15 an exhibition of quilts will be on view in the Figge's Quad City Bank & Trust Grand Lobby in celebration of Community and National Quilting Day on March 19. Hosted by the Mississippi Valley Quilter's Guild (MVQG), over forty quilts will be on view including the “traveling Community” quilts through March 20.
An artist reception and artist demonstrations of various quilting techniques will be held at the Figge Art Museum from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 20 and all quilters will receive FREE admission that day.
