Boston sculptor and printmaker John Wilson is one of the most well known African American artists. In 1986 he was commissioned to create a bronze monument to Dr. King for the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington. Wilson's interest in social consciousness has produced numerous works that affirm racial pride.
