Free Film at the Figge: "Mommy" (2014)

LOCATION: Figge Art Museum - John Deere Auditorium (2nd Floor)

 

Join us at the Figge in the John Deere Auditorium for a FREE screening of Mommy (2014) beginning at 6:30 p.m. A mother with a sometimes-violent teenage son struggles to control his behavior in a desperate attempt to avoid the need to institutionalize him. Directed, written, and edited by then 25-year-old French-Canadian film director Xavier Dolan. Mommy was Dolan’s fifth film to compete at Cannes. He was 20 years old when his first film, I Killed My Mother, won four awards at Cannes in 2009.

Cannes Film Festival: Jury Prize; nominated for Palme d’Or

Canadian Screen Awards: Nine awards, including Best Picture

French Cesar Award: Best Foreign Film

Chicago Film Critics: Best Foreign Language Film
