About

University of Iowa School of Art MFA Exhibition

Traditionally, the work of candidates in the University of Iowa's Master of Fine Arts programs is shown at UI's Museum of Art every spring. Due to the flood of 2008, last year's MFA exhibition was held at the newly renovated Studio Arts Building on campus. However, the faculty, along with the students, recognized the importance of participating in a museum exhibition. Since UI already had collaborated with the Figge to temporarily house its collection, the Figge seemed the ideal venue to host this spring's MFA candidates' exhibition.

The annual exhibition showcases the students' work in painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, intermedia, metals, ceramics and photography. Visitors will be impressed by the tremendous depth and diversity, both technically and
conceptually, of UI's graduate studio arts program.

Four of the artists in the exhibtion will speak about their work at Thursdays at the Figge. Learn more.
